The Reaction Series by William James - A Review

'The Reaction Series' by William James - A Review'The Reaction Series' by William James is one of the first books that attempted to deal with the mind-body connection in a scientific way. He began with the very basic observation that the emotions of an individual affected the physical body and its processes. These chemicals cause different reactions which in turn give rise to other emotions. The unconscious mind generates patterns of thoughts and feelings which become part of our everyday life. This theory has been applied to the human mind and those emotions which can be classified as feelings such as love, anger, fear, joy, etc.Once this concept is understood, it becomes easy to understand the person's feelings and their reaction to the world around them. It is then possible to teach people to control these feelings and behaviors. We may find ourselves feeling angry at times and have multiple chemicals in our body. The body produces chemicals to calm the situation and calm the emotio ns. We all feel tired, fatigued and many other bodily states when we are under stress. Our feelings are created by chemical reactions and our reactions to our environment. These responses or emotions are not inborn but learned. Through hypnosis we can reprogram our mind and bring forth patterns of behavior and alter the chemicals in our body to allow our feelings to alter our reactions. When we learn to have control over the unconscious mind, we have a better understanding of what we are doing and why. We no longer have to be a victim in our own life.'The Reaction Series' by William James is probably one of the more popular books dealing with the mind-body connection in the world today. It is a very good example of how science and hypnosis can work together to change thoughts and behaviors. It's important for all of us to take control of our own emotions and use this information to our advantage to become the best person we can be. There is much to learn about the mind and hypnosis.
